In the context of the President’s call to ‘make cases smaller’, practitioners are increasingly being asked to justify the attendance and cross examination of expert witnesses. Sam Momtaz KC and Sharon Segal KC are hosting a seminar at 1GC Family Law Chambers on Wednesday 9 July to discuss this issue which was recently considered by Mr Justice MacDonald in A Local Authority v X (Attendance of Experts) [2025] EWFC 137. Sam and Sharon will consider the implications of the decision for public and private law proceedings.
