We are delighted to announce that Chambers and several of our members have been recognised in three categories for the prestigious Family Law Awards.
Chambers has been shortlisted for Family Chambers of the Year: London.
Alev Giz and Eleri Jones have been shortlisted for Junior Barrister of the Year, an apt recognition of their contribution to the profession and the strength of their practice.
And 1GC Family Law has been included along with the other chambers and firms involved in the seminal Re H-N and Others case which is shortlisted for Case of the Year. This case involved nine barristers from 1GC:
Janet Bazley QC, with Jessica Lee and Costanza Bertoni, instructed by Clara Barry Born at Bindmans, act for the Respondent in the lead appeal, Re H-N.
Denise Gilling QC with Arlene Small (of Clerks Room) and Melissa Elsworth, instructed by Zoe Fleetwood of Mills & Reeve, act for the Respondent in the second appeal, Re H.
Sarah Morgan QC, with Tom Wilson and Lucy Maxwell, instructed by Jenna Lucas and Scott Halliday of Irwin Mitchell act for one of the Interveners (with permission to make oral submissions).
Deirdre Fottrell QC, with Lorraine Cavanagh QC (of St. John’s Buildings Chambers), instructed by ITN Solicitors, act on behalf of the ALC, another intervener (with permission to file a Skeleton Argument).
