Four members of Chambers appeared in the recent Court of Appeal case R (Care Proceedings Joinder of Foster Carers) [2021] EWCA Civ 875.

Deirdre Fottrell QC and Louise MacLynn represented the Local Authority, instructed by the Local Authority Joint Legal Team.

Denise Gilling QC and Lucy Maxwell represented the mother, instructed by Albin and Co. 

The Local Authority successfully appealed a case management decision to join the subject child’s foster carers to the care proceedings after the foster carers had made it known that they would seek to adopt the child.
