Chambers is delighted to announce that Edward Timpson CBE KC who practises from Linenhall Chambers, Chester, has joined 1GC Family Law as a door tenant.

Edward who did his pupillage at 1 Garden Court (now 1GC Family Law), practiced as a family law barrister for many years before pursuing a political career. He served as Chair of CAFCASS and Chair of the National Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel between 2017 and 2019. Between 2012 and 2017 Edward was Minister for Children and Families. In 2022, he was appointed Solicitor-General and awarded silk. Most recently he was acting as an adviser to Ministers on Family Justice policy. Edward has returned to practice at Linenhall Chambers where he practises in all forms of children work.
