In the Matter of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 2008 (Case L) [2016] EWHC 2266 (Fam)

Deirdre Fottrell QC and Tom Wilson appeared on behalf of the applicant, Sarah Morgan QC and Lucy Sprinz acted on behalf of the respondent and  Charles Geekie QC and Sharon Segal appeared on behalf of the children's guardian in the case of In the Matter of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 2008 (Case L) [2016] EWHC 2266 (Fam).

This was a case in which the President made a declaration of “non-parentage” in circumstances where a fertility clinic had made administrative errors in the taking and recording of consent to parenthood. The President also considered the ways in which a birth certificate can be amended pursuant to the provisions of the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1953 (as amended)
