Steven Ashworth, instructed by Tony McGovern of Creighton & Partners, represented the child H-N at the re-hearing of a fact-finding hearing before HHJ Lynn Roberts, concerning disputed allegations of domestic abuse. The re-hearing followed the mother’s successful appeal to the Court of Appeal in the landmark case of Re H-N and Others (Children) (Domestic Abuse: Findings of Fact Hearings) [2021] EWCA Civ 448. Aside from the father’s admissions, HHJ Roberts found only further allegation partly proven, concerning delay in getting the child to hospital when he suffered a fractured skull. The court did not find the remaining allegations of domestic abuse to have been proven.
