Edward Flood appeared for the child in the case of Re B (2024) EWFC 332(B) in a difficult private law dispute where the court found that mother was creating a distancing between father and daughter.
The case also grappled with Forced Marriage Protection Orders in the context of a family which routinely entered into arranged marriages with first cousins, and therefore the line between arranged and forced marriages. In this case it was the father who sought the FMPO raising concerns that the mother would force their child to marry a first cousin. A child arrangements order was made and the FMPO continued.
