Tom Wilson appeared pro bono on behalf of the appellant in the case of Re K (A Child) [2016] EWCA Civ 931.

The Court of Appeal considered an appeal against an order granting permission for a child to relocate permanently to the Republic of Ireland. The court elaborated upon recent guidance as to nature of the balancing exercise that must be carried out in international relocation cases, and also made remarks of more general application in relation to the role of the appellate when faced with appeals against welfare decisions.
