We are delighted to announce that Alev Giz, Claire Heppenstall, Louise MacLynn and Gemma Kelly have been appointed as Recorders with effect from 26th January 2022. Alev Giz is assigned to the North Eastern circuit dealing with Family matters, Claire Heppenstall and Gemma Kelly are assigned to the South Eastern Circuit dealing with Family matters and Louise MacLynn is assigned to the Midlands circuit dealing with Crime matters.

Joint Heads of Chambers Nkumbe Ekaney QC and Andrew Norton QC said “We congratulate Alev, Claire, Louise and Gemma on their success in this tough competition and wish them well in their part-time judicial careers." 

The Queen has appointed 163 Recorders on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, The Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP, and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, The Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
