Several members of Chambers are appearing in the Supreme Court today and tomorrow (4th and 5th February) in the matter of X and Y (Children: Adoption Order: Setting Aside).
Andrew Norton KC (together with Elisabeth Richards from St Ives Chambers) and Sapna Jain, instructed by David J Foster & Co (Solicitors) Ltd, for the respondent birth mother, Louise MacLynn KC and Tom Wilson instructed by the Government Legal Department on behalf of the Secretary of State for Education and door tenant Timothy Bowe KC (together with Mark Cooper-Hall from St Ives Chambers), instructed by Whatley Recordon Solicitors, acting for the Child Y.
The case centres on whether a court has the jurisdiction to revoke a validly made adoption order other than by way of appeal.
