Emily James and Richard Jones appointed as King’s Counsel

We are delighted to announce that Emily James and Richard Jones will be appointed King’s Counsel in March 2025.

Emily is a highly regarded child law specialist with a thriving practice in public and private law children work and has particular expertise in cases with an international element. She frequently appears in the High Court as well as acting in a number of very significant cases in the Court of Appeal.

Richard Jones is recognised for his expertise in challenging private law children proceedings and is noted for his charming client manner. He handles complex cases relating to parents seeking contact with their children and shows strength in the growing area of surrogacy. He is also instructed by local authorities, guardians and parents in serious public law cases such as those concerning radicalisation.
