  • Notable Cases

    A Local Authority v A Mother & Ors [2025] EWFC 193; Represented the child in care proceedings where the child’s sibling suffered abusive head injuries resulting in her death.

    A Local Authority v C [2024] EWFC 476 (B);  Represented the intervenor in care proceedings involving brain injuries to a child. The court concluded neither of the parents nor the intervenor were responsible for any injuries to the child. Despite the experts suggesting impact and shaking mechanism, the judge concluded the injuries were caused by an accidental fall.

    N (Children: Fact Finding - Perplexing Presentation/Fabricated or Induced Illness), Re [2024] EWFC 326; Represented the father in a complex case where findings were made against the mother of fabricated and induced illness to her children over many years. Fact-finding hearing over 37 days, trial bundle of almost ninety thousand pages.
     
    WZ (Placement with Grandparents) [2024] EWFC 357 (B); Representing the paternal grandparents in care proceedings. Placement with paternal grandparents was approved by the court, despite the Local Authority and Guardian seeking approval of adoption.

    The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham v R & Ors [2023] EWFC 338 (B); Representing the children through their Guardian and successfully argued for placement of the children with their mother under a care order.

    AB v XY [2019] EWHC 1468; Successful appeal of a circuit judge decision in matrimonial proceedings in a case involving international elements. Insufficient time given to a litigant in person amounted to undue acceleration which constituted a procedural irregularity and making the decision unjust. 

    Re A and Re B Children [2016] EWCA Civ 1101; Representing the children through the Children’s Guardian in the Court of Appeal. Complex care proceedings with 64 lever arch files in fact-finding hearing and 27 files on the permission to appeal hearing.

     X, Y and Z (Disclosure to the Security Service) [2016] EWHC 2400; Representing grandparent in High Court case involving allegations of extremism and terrorism related activity. Application by the Metropolitan Police for disclosure to the Security Service. 

    Re AD and AM (Fact-Finding Hearing) (Application for Re-Hearing) [2016] EWHC 326; Application in the High Court to re-open findings of fact. 

    Re JC (Discharge of Care Order: Legal Aid) [2015] EWFC B39; Representing the Children’s Guardian pro bono in difficult care proceedings.

    M (Children) [2014] EWCA Civ 1753; Hearing in the Court of Appeal in care proceedings.
