Deirdre Fottrell KC and Sharon Segal provided a legal analysis of the ground-breaking surrogacy case of X v Z (Parental Order Adult) [2022] EWFC 26, in which Deirdre was instructed by Russell-Cooke LLP acting for the applicants and Sharon Segal was instruced by Goodman Ray Solicitors acting for the subject adult child. This was the first case in which the Family Court considered an application for a parental order for an adult ‘child’ born of a surrogacy arrangement.
