Deirdre Fottrell QC appeared on behalf of the applicants and Tom Wilson appeared on behalf of the first and second respondents in this case concerning the revocation of an adoption order.

The court and parties identified a catalogue of errors in the approach of the local authority prior to the making of the adoption order. Mrs Justice Theis made an order by consent revoking the adoption order on the basis it was neither lawfully nor properly made.

Mrs Justice Theis approved and annexed to her judgment a document setting out the correct procedure to adopt by local authorities and the court in non-agency adoptions.
