In a landmark Judgment by the Court of Appeal, just published, Jessica Lee, instructed by Pathfinder Legal Services, successfully responded to an application regarding the non-recognition of a Marriage.

The appeal against the Declaration, made under the inherent jurisdiction, was dismissed. Jessica responded on behalf of the Local Authority and sought for the Orders to remain in place.

The Judgment covers a range of areas including;

(i) the application of declarations under the inherent jurisdiction or statute;

(ii) forced marriage cases;

(iii) capacity issues.
