Andrew Venables appeared on behalf of the Lord Chancellor in this appeal concerning the extent of the appeal rights under the 2007 Hague Convention. The appeal concerned recognition and enforcement of a maintenance order made in the USA, and the interaction between the 2007 Convention and the prior treaty arrangements reflected in the Reciprocal Enforcement of Maintenance Orders (USA) Order 2007.  

The Court of Appeal endorsed the position taken by the Lord Chancellor.
