Deirdre Fottrell QC and Marlene Cayoun represented the Local Authority in the case of L and B (Children: Care Proceedings) [2015] EWFC 66 in which findings were successfully obtained of serious child sexual abuse and inter-sibling sexual activity caused by long-term grooming and neglect.

The circumstances required a child and a vulnerable adult to give live oral evidence about their abuse.  The case is an example of how large-scale police investigations into child abuse rings can be successfully presented in the family courts for the protection of children.
