Henry Lamb, instructed by Tony McGovern of Creighton & Partners, successfully represented the young person in the recent case of Re G [2025] EWHC 1974 (Fam) which considers whether or not the court has the power to make a deprivation of liberty order in relation to a competent 17-year-old, who is voluntarily accommodated by a local authority. Ms Justice Henke accepted the arguments presented by Henry on behalf of the young person and his children’s guardian. The judgment provides a comprehensive review of the law, including the availability of wardship in such cases. During the course of the Judgment, Henry was praised by Ms Justice Henke for his ‘diligence and hard work’ and for the ‘quality of written advocacy in this case’.
