AB (a child), Re [2024] EWHC 586

Tom Wilson acted for the Secretary of State for Education in a recent case before the President of the Family Division concerning the interplay between adoption and surrogacy law.

The case concerned an application for a parental order in respect of a child who had already been adopted by the applicants. The President examined the two legal frameworks and determined that the fact that the child had been adopted order did not prevent the court from making a parental order.
