Andrew Bagchi QC and Anna Lavelle, instructed by Russell-Cooke, were successful in the Court of Appeal upholding an appeal on behalf of a juvenile intervener in care proceedings. The decision in this case is important because it comments on the vulnerability of juvenile interveners, makes some observations in the judgment on the tendancy not to require child complainants to give oral evidence and suggests a reformulation of the standard Lucas direction in care proceedings.
