We are delighted to launch the 1GC Family Law Annual Moot 2026, a fantastic opportunity for students and future barristers to immerse themselves in family law, test their legal reasoning, and for the semi-finalists and finalists to experience courtroom-style advocacy.

Mooting is one of the most effective ways to build the skills needed for a career at the Bar. Participants will have the opportunity to strengthen their oral advocacy, legal analysis, research, and written submissions, while gaining confidence presenting arguments before experienced practitioners.

Whether you are looking to enhance your CV, deepen your understanding of family law, or simply challenge yourself, we encourage you to get involved.

Key Dates
• Sign up by: 30 September
• Problem released: 1 October
• Paper round deadline: 16 October
• Semi-finals: Week commencing 9 November
• Final: Week commencing 30 November

The semi-final and final rounds will be held at 1GC Family Law, 10 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London.
