Ruth specialises in the protection of children and vulnerable adults and the provision of services to them. An experienced Silk, Ruth has a deserved reputation as an expert in her field and is widely known for her sensitive handling of complex cases.
Ruth is an expert in care cases, frequently working on child death, shaken baby, sexual abuse, chronic and gross neglect, cases involving mental and physical disabilities, alleged ‘paedophile rings’, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.
Ruth typically acts in Inherent Jurisdiction (including the right to die and right to life) matters and cases about education, as well as in those featuring vulnerable adults.
Ruth regularly appears in the Family Court, the Court of Protection, the Administrative Court and the Court of Appeal. She is often instructed by local authorities, Local Health Boards (LHBs) (Wales), hospitals, parents and relatives, Guardians, interveners, incapacitated adults and children.
