Jessica Mortimer

Year of Call: 2023

Practice Overview

Jessica joined Chambers as a pupil in September 2025. Prior to pupillage, Jessica worked as a Judicial Assistant in the Family Division of the High Court. In this role, she gained valuable insight into the work of the Family Division at its highest level by undertaking legal research, drafting, and case analysis for complex public and private children law proceedings.

Jessica's pro bono experience includes volunteering with a legal advice centre, where she advised clients on a range of family law issues. She also volunteered as a caseworker for Advocate, helping to secure legal representation for clients and supporting counsel in preparing cases.

In addition, Jessica was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of York, teaching the core legal subjects to first and second-year undergraduates. She also contributed to research projects examining vulnerability in the justice system.

Jessica is currently supervised by Jennifer Kavanagh.
