The Seminar
Following the report of the Vulnerable Witness and Children Working Group, and with new procedure rules and practice directions about to arrive, the issue of vulnerable witnesses is centre stage for family practitioners. 
 
This seminar will provide an in-depth review of law and practice presented by leading experts in diverse fields.
 
Alison Moore of 1 Garden Court will present an overview of the law as it stands and the expected changes. Professor Penny Cooper, Chair of the Advocates’ Gateway, will provide her view on the role of intermediaries in the family court. Lord Judge, the former Lord Chief Justice, will bring to bear his unrivalled experience of children’s evidence in criminal cases and the lessons to be learned from criminal practice. Professor Lucy Henry will provide a psychologist's perspective on the difficulties faced by children in giving evidence.
